Communism exists when the ownership and distribution of production and goods is controlled by the state. Our so called democratic system will allow our government to do whatever it wishes to do! Ever hear of the "war Measures Act"? How does this differ from the Soviet system? Yes, if done fairly it would work, if the leaders didn't hijack the system and take unfair advantage by creating an upper elite class. This ,of course, would never happen in our system. Our leaders, for example, wouldn't take a 25% pay increase without voter approval !!!!

communism is a wonderful way of life on paper as everyone is equal and no one is about anyone else, and I think it could be based on the Christan principles, also The pilgrims tried a form of gov, when they first came to America, but, some people wanted to be lazy and not work and produce, yet they wanted to take out as much as the people who worked hard and tried to be productive, they you also had the greedy ones who wanted to not only get more but to also be above the others, so yes communism is a great way of life on paper, but on paper only , because of the human factor of laziness and greed, if you read the communist manifesto you will agree it sounds great on paper, but, it don't work because of the human factor, humans are humans period, there has been greed and laziness since the beginning of time and it won't stop in our life time, so communism won't work, as we all have seen in other country's.

The idea behind communism, as I understand it, is that everyone contributes whatever they can in terms of work, and everyone is then given what they need, food, clothing, etc. The problem comes in the form of leaders who keep everything for themselves instead of redistributing goods to the people. East Germany, Vietnam, Cuba, et al. are not truly Communist government, but dictatorships with the label of Communism where the heads of state keeping the wealth for themselves.

Communism on paper works if the persons concerned work it out concretely even in democracy or any form of government. Every idea, etc. works if it is accompanied by good works. For it says, "Faith without good work is dead".
