Hubby and I watched all of them except for Riptide and Checkmate. It's too bad that Jan Michael Vincent killed himself. He sure had alot of promise as an actor. He was so intense. I can't recall who was in Hardcastle and McCormick.
And we never missed, "The Fall Guy" with Lee Majors. What
has he been doing lately? And Simon and Simon's Gerald
McRainey. He's managed to continue on with a Marine Corps
series and he's done alot of work since. It's nice of you to
remind us of some later shows we used to enjoy.

How could we ever forget those great tv show? I sure wish TV Land would bring them back but I don't know if they will. We could use another tv station that would cater to nothing but the oldies & real oldies. (Burns & Allen, Life of Riley, My Little Margie, Private Secretary, Loretta Young Show, Life With Joan, etc)

I'm not a fan of any of them. Usually a show must have at least 100 episodes before being picked up by TV Land or any other network for syndication. Do these shows have 100 episodes (5 seasons) of programs?

I remember most of them. I esp like The Fall Guy and T. J. Hooker. TV Land does bring a lot of the shows back, it would be good to see them again. Sometimes I didn't pay much attention to shows the first time they're on, but really enjoy them in reruns.

Simon and Simon WAS on for awhile a couple years ago. I loved Airwolf! and also Hardcastle and McCormick!
I wish they would bring back some of those shows - TVland has become boring with the same ole-same ole shows

I loved "Moonlighting", "Designing Women", and "Murphy Brown". Of course, they weren't as old as the ones you all are counting, but I also loved "Boston Common". Does anyone remember it? A comedy about a brother and sister who came to Boston from, I think it was West Virginia and he was in school there in Boston. They were hilarious. They were total hicks and would get into fights where they would throw each other across the room.

My favourite was Simon and Simon. I watched it every week. I really liked Airwolf too with Jan Michael Vincent but I guess his drinking problem on the show caused a lot of problems.

Major Dad although more recent was a favorite of ours. Hopefully they will be made available on DVD like the Munsters and the Addams family.
Sugarfoot, Cheyenne, were also good in the earlier days.

Welcome Back Kotter and Barney Miller were my personal favorites...great characters in both, many going on to superstar status later [Travolta, right?] and quality smaller roles in solid gold movies [Abe Vigoda in one of the 'Godfathers']. The shows mentioned by the asker seemed primarily showcase stuff for pretty people, with good stories/writing as secondary aspects. Kotter and Miller were good because of the outstanding scriptwriting and ensemble playing...no star syndromes, e.g.

I don't no about TVLand (I never watch it) but there is a TV station called "Sleuth" (Channel 308 on DirecTV) and they have oldies - but they are "Crime all the Time" and I frequently watch Simon & Simon. They also air The Rockford Files and Magnum PI. Have fun! CJ
