Like I know someone cloned a sheep but do you think the goverment actualy cloned people?

No, but Korean scientists have claimed that they have done this. Its supposedly very difficult to do, but it isn't impossible.

Why would they want to?

IMO, if any illegal person-cloning has gone on, it will be wealthy individuals cloning themselves to as to have a ready supply of transplant organs, with no possibility of immune rejection.

However - I don't think the technology is advanced enough just yet. And I think you'd have difficulty, even as an extremely wealthy person, finding a large enough team of scientists who had sufficiently few morals as to perform the task for you. News would have escaped somehow.

No...the government is fairly incapable of most simple things. Something advanced like cloning would require advanced thought which is not in the job description of the government.
