Pain is typically your body responding to some form of injury even if minor.
Steroids can help (injection into knee) reduce inflammation and pain.
Perhaps the graph became dislodged or you DO have a new injury.
Would suggest an MRI to confirm if pain does not dissipate soon.
Pain in recovery is normal but should lessen NOT get worse over time.

I've had five surgeries on my right knee and took steroid shots the entire time and still ended up getting the knee totally replaced. Now I take steroids for my other knee and my hip. They gave me seven extra years between my injury and the actual replacement. Pain I still had and sometimes it was unbearable. Even after the total knee replacement I have awful pain.
The steroids seemed to buy me some time. I know I need my other knee replaced but hopefully the steroid shots will keep the inflamation down and settle the knee some. I'm lasted almost 9 years with this bad knee and I do equate a lot of that to my steroid injections. Now I take them in my hip for inflammation and buying time. I am too young to have both knees replaced and a hip.
They've worked for me. Talk to your orthopedic surgeon, he's the one who will know the correct answer.
Good luck and God Bless!!

I have a knee I ruined back in 2001. I get steroid shots in my knee to relieve the pain about every 3 months. It does not cure it, and it never will. There is a new treatment available called prolotherapy. It is not a steroid. You might want to look it up.
Currently I walk with a cane and have a knee brace. I am sure you are younger than I am so maybe you'll better results.
Good luck.

This isn't exactly the best time to have steroids/HGH injected in your knee. They're usually given to people with spine problems which interfere with their work.
It seems like you re-injured your knee. If no tearing occurred, then there's a good chance that there's shearing forces rubbing against soft tissue causing an inflammation to occur. This is usually due to improper mechanical movement, but in your case, you're knee might not have healed the right way. You might need to think about going back to the earlier PT exercises you were doing to retrain your knee. Before you leave your PT, ask if you can get all the exercises that you did so that you can do it at home.

They always say that steroids cause your body's healing system to shut down. Like the commercials that say, don't start this medication if you have an open sore, and be sure to tell your surgeon you are taking this drug as this medication may delay or slow your ability to recover from surgery.
No steroids.

If your surgeon says no. then you have your answer. I had knee replacement and have done exactly as my doctor said. Thank God I have had no problems. The Doctors have the training, listen to them.If you start yourself on steroids, you can hurt yourself instead of help yourself.

Don't use the illegal stuff, if you get caught up with them it will mess you up bad. Even if they seem like they could do something, you body is not made for that stuff and it could eventually lead to early death. Just go to a doctor and see if they have anything.

doctors want to stay away from steroids since they have many side effects on the persons body.. so thats why they rather give some other med to numb the pain or just let you take it slow so it heals better..

Follow your surgeons plan. Neither steroids or hgh will help.
