A few years back I bought controlled-substance prescription diet pills from an online pharmacy and had no problems (they are no longer in business though for whatever reason). They worked fine and weren't laced with LSD or agent-orange or anything. I'm just wondering how narcotics can be bought so easily, legally.

If you bought them without a prescription, the legal burden should be on the vendor for selling them, not the buyer.

What kind of diet pills were these? Amphetamines? Meridia? Ephedra? Adipex? I'm just curious...I Googled "narcotic diet pills" and got these names off the top of the list.

Think of how dangerous this is. If you get addicted, you have another problem. You could be in violation of narcotics possession laws. Why not look into legalized versions of marijuana supplied by the government, which can be provided by your doctor through a prescription? Also, different types of therapy such as acupuncture, the use of aspirin and Tylenol, exercise, sleep and naturopathic treatments may help. This applies if you are a Canadian though certain states may allow for the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

No, it is not legal to buy prescription drugs over the internet. You can do it, but it is illegal. I know this first hand because I have bought a prescription over the internet thinking that it was ok, and failed a preemployment drug test because the medical review officer said that because the doctor did not establish a valid doctor patient relationship by examining me, it was not a legal prescription.

No, it's completely illegal without an authorized prescription. In fact, the DEA is beginning to crack down not just on the websites, but on individuals purchasing such drugs on these websites. I found a really interesting article (easy, quick read) that you should check out.

I would say no. Narcotic=controlled substance. Controlled substance=illegal without prescription.

It's illegal to have any prescription medication without a prescription. Most online pharmacies are illegal, and most of their drugs are counterfeit.
