Is the same carpet in a closet or somewhere you can easily cut out a patch? Or can you buy the same carpet still? If so, cut out the stain in a square pattern using a utility knife (it may be easier to find something to use as a template) Once you have removed the stain, use that piece of carpet as a template to cut the patch. Using double sided sticky tape (there are ones made specifically for carpet) secure the patch in place. If the patch is cut correctly, you will never see the difference in the patch and the existing carpet. If you cut the carpet from a closet or other unseen area, you can use the stained/bleached carpet to replace the carpet you cut for the patch.

All warnings in opposition to nail polish remover because it eats the rug. There is some thing referred to as SPOT SHOT at Walmart and Costco. It referred to as spot shot given that its for this motive. To Shoot out Spots. Good Luck however do not use anymore chemical compounds at the rug or you will have a gap.

wow, my daughter did same thing about a month ago, red nail polish on beige carpet. we were out for the evening, she asked for help on y/a, scrubbed, used a steamcleaner, even sent her brother out to get heavy duty spot remover. 2 hrs of trying and no luck, i'm sitting here looking at a now bright orangy/pink spot. luckily its only an inexpensive area rug that im going to throw out, is yours? wish i could help, call a carpet store, maybe they can suggest something
