Well Gem, I improvise some, I love to add my own twist to some recipes, but some you have to follow closely, usually if a recipe says to add pimento's, I don't because it ruined a recipe once, and when I remade the dish without pimento's it turned out great, I also alway add a little more spice than called for

Of course I never follow the recipe exact. And I hardly ever use measuring cups. I like to improvise and make it my own.

If it is something I've never prepared before, then yes I follow it. If I've made the dish before, then I'll improvise a bit.

I used to be exact because I was too scared it would taste horrible, but now I improvise a bit and if it tastes like crap, I always have frozen pizza handy!!!

I usually always follow the recipe. Unless I know an even better way to do it and add to it, I follow it the right way.
