Chromatin packing is the compression of DNA to fit into a cell for mitosis (the process of cell division in growth in which DNA replication is needed) and for the DNA repair.

This refers to all the rolling up and winding up of DNA that must happen to turn chromatin into chromosomes. It condenses the chromatin into definite shapes of chromosomes that can be moved around during mitosis or meiosis without breaking and damaging the chromosomes.

Its basically the packing of the DNA and Chromosomes so that it can be delivered via sperm to its target.
