Somewhere near Lake Placid on the trails in the Adirondack Mountains. It's a bit of a hike up to some of the nice wilderness camping sites, and this time of year it might be wiser to stay on the Adirondack Mountain Lodge or Jonesbrook Lodge overnight, and hike out during the day.

I've only been once (Thankfully).
But if you want a truly beautiful place, South Stradbroke Island of Brisbane Qld.
It has everything, a beach on one side facing the sea, toilets, calm sea water and camping area's on the other.
If you want to get close to nature it's perfect because the Kangaroo's will get into your food supplies while your asleep.
The Bandicoot's steal from your plate while your eating dinner or get in the tent with you.....
I tied the tent zip closed with my shoe laces so they got under the tent between the tent base and the sand.

Well I just got back from the Mogollon Rim, which is one of my favorites. Its only 99.3 miles from my house and the elevation is 7600. This was probably the last weekend for THAT!
This time of year we move closer to the desert, where it gets a BRRRR chilly (the 30's) in the evenings....or we head up to the Prescott Valley,Superstition Wilderness, McDowell Mountain State Park, Verde River...or down south to Patagonia,Tombstone,Sonoita, and yes Rocky Point (Mexico!!)

I dont like bugs. I usually have allergic reactions to anything that bites me and they just LOVE to ignore everyone else and head straight for me!
So if you haven't gathered yet, I HATE camping. I do love to go to "camp" however. As long as I sleep indoors in SOMETHING (other than a tent) I am happy. I prefer family camps where there are organized things to do, games to play, things to climb, etc. etc.
Otherwise just point me to the BEACH...that's pretty well my territory!

OMG in the mountains near a nice lake. I love camping so much. I especially like to go without the kids so my husband and I can go skinny dipping in that lake under the moon light. lol. You should try Yellowstone National Park; it's absolutely breath taking.

Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota is pretty awesome. Lots of wilderness and canoeing/fishing/chillin and grillin. Also its cool to make a sweet fort in the living room out of couch cushions and camp out in the living room, just be careful when you roast the marshmallow last time the fire department had to come to my house.
