My parents don't really know what anime is... It's kind of sad, cause while I'm watching anime on television (or on the computer) they're like 'stop watching cartoons!' I've tried explaining to them that it's not really like cartoons. The graphics are ten times betters and there's no pointless story behind them. Even though they listen to me, lol, they don't know a word I'm saying...
Haha, it was creepy when I was a kid and I used to watch Dragonball ALL the time! GUESS WHAT?! My dad was watching it with me!!! He loved Dragonball, he's like this is the best show ever!
Haha, ever since then, even if they think anime is childish and for little kids, they don't say anything anymore - especially my dad because he knows how addictive it is.
So all in all, they kind of know what anime is to some extent but that's about it.

No, my parents always say I'm insane or just crazy. However, my mom kind of like Sailor Moon because she was so use to seeing my brothers, sister, and I watching it. She just like the pictures, not really what is going on. She calls me crazy and need a life beyond the cartoon world but I refuse!! ANIME FOREVER!!!!!!!

They don't really mind that my sister and I watch anime. :'D Hooray for nice parents. (Well, most of the time). They do know what it is, but they think all of the anime merchandise like keychains, or figurines are a waste of money. (They kinda are... sometimes. xD).
I stay on top of my grades and school work, so they're not really concerned about me watching too much anime or reading manga 24/7. I guess that's why they think it's not "stupid" or "silly".

They know I watch it and love to draw the characters but they don't understand it. They're always like "Why do the look like that? And what happened to his parents? Why does he have blonde hair?" I get a little annoyed because they think it's to violent but it's really not. They just don't really understand the plot and it's like us watching the History channel. (Actually I do) They don't really love it but they don't hate it. They even offered to enroll me in an animation/ visual art school.

Same here, at first my parents didn't know what Anime was. Lol. But, now they know my parents absolutely hate it.
They think I'm becoming more violent because of it. [[Whatever. I was already violent before I started watching anime.]]
Also, they hate it when I watch the subbed version. They keep on asking me.... (This is our conversation)
"How in the hell do you understand this? You don't speak Chinese."
"Its Japanese and it has subtitles." >_<
Well that happens everytime I try to watch anime. Sad aint it.

My mom watched Spirited away and Grave of the Fireflies. She cried at the end. That's about the only anime she's watched

LOL!! That's pretty... pathetic. xDDD
My parents know very little about anime. All they know is how they look like. They said anime is baby-ish and stuff, and I said back "No they aren't!" Unfortunately, they kinda won, so yeah... =(

They don't mind me at all! ^^
In fact they'd rather see me being obsessed with anime than wasting myself on drinking and parties like some other people I know.
They only thing they make fun of though is the fact that I find anime girls cuter than most girls.
They know I'm not that addicted but they still tease me about why I like girls with big eyes. ^^'
I tell them it's not the eyes but their personalities but they still make fun so I just play along. :)

My mum's seen Spirited away and I tried to get her to watch Howls Moving Castle, she watched about half and then fell asleep...O.o
