I am 12 and my twin sister and I babysit for a couple with 3 kids. They are 1 year old, 3 years old, and 4 years old. One time my sister and I babysat for 4 hours and we each got only $15. Is this fair?

The kids are REALLY hard to babysit and they yell A LOT. One time, the girl who is 3 was kicking and yelling a ton and we tried to carry her upstairs and she kicked me in the face! It really hurt, and I told the parents. All they did was scold the child, they didn't even pay more! It gives my sister and I major headaches and a lot of stress to watch the kids, but we really need the money.

Also, one time we babysat for 5 hours and they paid us $12! I really don't know why. How do I ask them nicely that our prices are higher?

If you want more money, just ask.
If the couple do not have the money or do not want to pay you, then just tell them that you can no longer babysit for them.

After a few times of refusing them, they will probably give in.
Especially when they must pay someone else way more to babysit.

Hold out or find some other people to sit for.
Dog sitters get more than you both are getting.

Yeah, this really doesn't sound fair!!! you and your sister should decide on a set price. for example: $5 per kid per hour. so if you babysit 3 kids for 4 hours, then you should get paid... $36 total! But that's just an example. so then once you decide on your rates, tell the parents your new rates, and they will have to pay you that much, otherwise you won't babysit for them... hope it works out!!!

baby sitting isn't a gold mine. you need to set your prices upfront instead of letting them set it

you each made $7.50/hr so I'd say that is pretty good.
