before paris masters Fed had 7205 points. Since Federer did not play in Paris last year, he didn't have to defend any points, so whatever points he won in Paris - it would just add up. However, the newest ranking that just came up for November 5, 2007, Federer has 6530 points.
The new points don't make any sense. He got to R16 in Paris which equals 75 point. Therefore, he should have 7205 +75 = 7275. Can somebody explain this to me or ATP has some new ranking system. Thanks

The 7205 points before Paris Masters include Masters Cup points last year. Ranking points as of Nov 5 only include tournaments played this year. You can refer to atptennis.com for breakdown of points.
