I've noticed a while back ago that Hollywood does not really have much Asian people on their red carpets. When Hollywood does bring up Asian people, they have them as fighters and such. One Asian I can think of is Brenda Song. I don't know about the rest. I have a few friends that agree with me (they agree with me, and they're white). What are your takes on this? Serious answers only please, no discriminating comments. Thanks.

By the way, just incase any of you take this offensively somehow, I am not making this as a racial remark to Hollywood picking more of a certain race. I'm not saying that it's not good that a single race is getting much of Hollywood while others don't. It's great that a lot of people are in Hollywood, but we need more of other races. Please tell me what you think. Thanks again. =)

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I don't really know where this would fit into.

I agree with you, Stephen L. It's great that black people are getting their share of movies these days.

hollywood is just a reflection of the society that embraces it's magic. remember that hollywood is business, it is a market-driven entity ... the clientele dictates how hollywood position itself in the society.
i believe that its not about the color of people - if its white, black, brown, red or yellow - but its about the color of money that hollywood is interested to.

(we have jackie chan, jet li and other chinese actors because hollywood sees now the potential market in china and the buying power of asian all over the world).

Another under-represented race is us Native Americans. For the longest time in Hollywood Indians were played by White, Mexican, Jewish and even Black people. It's changing, but at a very slow rate. I think racist is a correct term to use. I also think that Hollywood casting agents are a bit out of touch with America.

Asians are grossly underrepresented in american movies. I'm not sure it's because of racism, but I'm hoping things will change as it has started to for blacks.

Hollywood is all about money. Nothing else. If that makes them appear racist, so be it. It's a business.
