Pascal Leclaire got his 5th shutout of the year. It's not like he's not facing a ton of shots...as much as a wings goalie, which isn't a lot, but even Ozzie and Hasek let in (well in haseks case--2 or 3) for ozzie--1 or 2 a game. What would you credit to his success?

Better two-way play by the entire team. When Ken Hitchcock came into Columbus he pretty much told his players to buy into his system or they'd be replaced by call ups from Syracuse. Hitch has encouraged the forwards, specifically Nash, to get more involved in defense. The plan seems to be working.

I credit Ken Hitchcock for his success. Best coach in the NHL. I went nuts last year when the Flyers fired him, although Stevens seems capable.

Steroids. Oh sorry, this isn't baseball, right Barry?

Ken Hitchcock is a very good coach. And their O is making other teams defend this year. Nash has been a monster in the other team's end, which has made it harder for the other team to score; especially since they seem to spend a fair bit of time pulling the puck out of their own net.

It's called the 'zone'. Many have been in it, few have taken up permanent residency there. I doubt Leclaire is one of those precious few, but he's having himself an impressive run.

A solid defense DOES play into it,
A more aggressive offense DOES play into it,
Better conditioning DOES play into it,
Coach Hitch**** DOES play into it,

LUCK does NOT play into it!
Luck will get you A shut-out, or TWO wins...

P.L. now has 5 Shut-outs for 7 wins, a 1.11 GAA and a .957 SV% - that is not luck.

he has got nothin but luck this season
the only reason why he has gotten 5 shutouts is because he has got a good defense in front of him

Living up to his promise as a junior. He finally has a good coach telling him what to do and more importantly, what not to do.
