My,my. You have really dug deep into the achieves of history. LOL. Yes I do remember Gorgeous George. Now that was taking place during the late 50's into the very early 60's.
You must be having all sorts of fun with us. LOL. I'll admit, you are good when you come up with these questions. LOL

Yes, but vaguely. I remember seeing him on TV in those
black and white days of the late 50's. With his platinum blonde hair. I remember a 'page boy' style I saw him in. It
was rolled under and he wore bangs when I saw him. There
were a few copy cats to enter the ring with blonde hair after
him. But I don't recall their names or what they looked like.

Sure do! My dad let me stay up and watch wrestling with him. I guess he thought it was cute that his little girl wanted to watch it. Heck, I just didn't want to go to bed! Anyway Rito Romero was my favorite. Remember White Cloud , Tojo, the Masked Marvel, and the tag team matches? How about Baron Leoni? Those matches were fun.

Yes. I also remember.....Dang it......Apollo Creed keeps coming to mind, but of course that is a movie character. I remember once.......This one wrestler, showed up ,straight from returning to town, with his suitcase, to save the day.... Now I can't remember HIS name.....I'll think about this ALL NIGHT LONG NOW.....Thank you!! hahah

EDIT: HOLD IT!!! The guy with the suitcase WAS Gorgeous George, I think... I just looked at his photo.

I think you're right. I spent the summer I was 13 (1953) with my aunt and uncle in Norfolk. They watched wrestling, and I just fell in love with it.

At home, we had just gotten a TV set, and we watched such cultural events as "Firestone Theater" and "Gunsmoke" and "Damon Runyan Theater" (David Niven, Imogene Coca, and I can't recall who else). Wrestling was NOT entertainment in our home. I never got back into watching it after that summer.

Yes, I remember him. Also Baron Leone, and the Garibaldi brothers. I think this is how their names are spelled. That was a long time ago.
