Monsters feed themselves, as long as their is feed in their hut, they will eat one piece a day.

There are two ways to get feed:
1. Buy it from either of the two guys on the second screen of town. If you buy it you have to manually throw it into the little hole next to the door of each hut.
2. Grow it yourself. UNLIKE other HM games, grass is like every other crop, it needs to be watered daily and can only be harvested once. BUT for each square of grass you cut EACH hut gains one piece of feed. So if you have 5 huts, each square will give all of those huts one piece of grass.

Note that 99 is the maximum a hut can store, so a hut full of monsters will stay feed for 24 days. This means it is impossible to get through winter without buying feed.

(I don't have any basements yet for my huts. I do not know if basements have their own feed storage, or take from the top level.)

You grow or buy feed. When you buy it, you have to manually add it to each hut, when you grow it is different. When you cut it, instead of going to your inventory it equally divides itself amongst each monster hut. Good luck and keep them fed!

Ok, make sure the grass is in your pack. Go to your barn and look at the front of it, on the front (the left side) will be a small hole. Equip the grass and throw it into the hole. The feeding is done by itself.
