They were named Alphys. I worked at one for three years. It was next door to the Alpha Beta Market on Garvey Blvd. in Rosemead, Ca. They were owned by Alpha Beta. We had great coffee and good food.

I never knew they had restaurants. I only remember the chain
of Alpha Beta grocery stores when I lived in California the
first couple of times when young and had a toddler. Were
the restaurants connected or inside the maybe larger grocery
stores? Or were they more like what they had in Thrifty Drug
with the counter and stools and a few booths? This is a new
one for me, as I never saw one.

I've never seen or heard of them. I tried looking them up, they must only be in a certain area.
EDIT: I found this. Is this the right place? It mentions a merger and opening Alphy Coffee Shops part way down the page.

Hey Wally. I've never heard of this Alpha Beta...are you sure it wasn't dreamed up by some New Waver from Alpha Centauri? (hyuck, hyuck!)
Boy...am I in desperate need of entertainment.
