There are three good candidates in my book.

1. Mike McCarthy When McCarthy was named head coach in Green Bay, everyone laughed and Packers fans wanted him to be fired at the beginning of last season. Funny, you don't seem to hear those people anymore. Why? Well the fact that McCarthy's won 11 of his last 12 games (dating back to last season) with a team that was supposed to be in decline.

2. Jeff Fisher Fisher is the longest tenured coach in the league and always seems to get more out of his team than anyone expects. Everyone thought they'd be terrible last year, they went 8-8. Everyone thought they'd take a step back this year (losing Henry, Bennett, the suspension of Pacman Jones), they're 6-2 this year.

3. Rod Martinelli I've been saying the Lions are a pretender all year, but I think now I have to change my tune. They're 6-2 and absolutely destroyed Denver last game.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

I don't know, but the winner of the Worst Coach of the Year Award goes to Bill Callahan. Make that the worst coach ever.
