I asked my husband this question because I like to know what men think. He said you know you're in love because you feel very comfortable with that person. I thought about it for a while as I have before. To me that was a great answer.
To me it is unconditional love. You just love someone... They don't have to be anything but themselves.
I believe everyone thinks of love as something different. If you have love you know it. There really is no doubt. You get through everything in life because you love them. You want the best for them. You hurt if they hurt. If you are mean to them you feel bad. You accept their faults because you are in love with them.
The two of you are each other's angels through thick and thin.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love is when you consider your spouse/boyfriend as your best friend, one that you can rely on day in and day out. Love is when the two become one and noone or thing can defeat your relationship. When you can come home after a hard day and that someone is their waiting to listen and be your support when noone else cares. You have to become a team and realize that you are on the same team for now and forever.

The Bible says of love as follows,
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

for leo it is:

"Perfect love is rare indeed -
for to be a lover will require
that you continually have
the subtlety of the very wise,
the flexibility of the child,
the sensitivity of the artist,
the understanding of the philosopher,
the acceptance of the saint,
the tolerance of the scholar and
the fortitude of the certain."

For emmet fox it is as under:
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;
no disease that enough love will not heal;
no door that enough love will not open;
no gulf that enough love will not bridge;
no wall that enough love will not throw down;
no sin that enough love will not redeem...
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
how hopeless the outlook; how muddled the tangle; how great the mistake.
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all.
If only you could love enough you would be
the happiest and most powerful being in the world...

There are four basic forces identified in the universe: ELECTROMAGNETIC force, the STRONG nuclear force, the ELECTRO-WEAK force, and GRAVITY. Of these GRAVITY stands out as odd. It is far weaker than any of the other three. But it is specifically because of GRAVITY that we are here. It is GRAVITY that makes it possible for stars to exist and as Carl Sagan told us "We are all made of Starstuff".

Gravity permeates the universe. Brian Swimme in his book "The Universe is a Green Dragon", refers to this all permeating force as "ALLUREMENT". This ALLUREMENT is responsible for the universe as we see it.

It could be said that this all-permeating ALLUREMENT is LOVE.
