^^ I have a few rusting metals made out of the same material as the paperclips that I need to get cleaned. Another question to add to this dealing with paperclips...are the gold paper clips made out of the same material as the silver ones?

Thank you for your time. :)

If you have jewelry/silver cleaner, use that.

Use a 3M scrubbing pad (the commercial ones are too wide; cut one in half) with a solution of Tide diluted with water. Scrub with the green nylon mesh until the rust is gone. At the price of paper clips, there are no silver or gold.

you could also try, taco bell taco sauce, both coke and taco sauce have mild acids in it.Coke has phosphoric acid and taco sauce has alkali acidity.both can be used to lightly clean metal( both have a safe level ph)It might take a day or two but give it a try.

try lightly scrubbing them with steel wool or SOS pads. Also, baking soda works for rust.
