no-and no American could be-they simply cannot be seen as honest brokers given that they are so biased towards the Israelis.

Personally I don't think she truly understands the culture, the religion, the Islamic sects. I bet she knows the damage our
goverment has done to these people. She cares nothing about the oppression and suffering of the Palestinan people.
I think Jimmy Carter would be wonderful as a negotiator in the Middle East-He is objective. Read His book "Palestine not Apartheid"I think C. Rice is a puppet on a string. One of the solutions to the Middle East Crisis is the "Roadmap" which she is fully aware that the Palestinian-Israeli situation is one of the reasons we are hated by the Middle Easterners.

If you'll remember, the efforts by the previous administration were dropped. After 911, negotiating and mediating were seen as against our best interests and were viewed as rewarding the enemy. Only recently have there been any efforts at dialog in the Middle East. They are going to have to start all over and this administration is seen as having little credibility both here and around the world.

Unfortunately any US government spokesperson trying to mediate on the Middle East peace attempt will not be taken seriously.
For reasones best known to the USA.they have always been seen to only support one side at the UN.( often by use of their veto.)
Likewise Mr.Tony Blair will because of his backing of G.Bush in Iraq be considered biased.
As for T.Blair's claim of bringing peace to N.Ireland, this was as a result of the IRA.being declared a terrorist organisation.

We can only hope she has some impact.
But given that women aren't held in much respect in that area, I doubt that she will have a lasting impact to change the men's minds involved.
g-day!
