I've always wondered what you think of us. I've seen people move here and say that their friends made fun of them and that they thought we didn't wear shoes and didn't finish elementary school... what do you think?

People from Tennessee are just like people from New York, Washington, Kentucky, etc. We're all Americans, we're all people, and we're all human. The only thing that sets you apart from the rest is your accent which is the same as anyone else with an accent.

What does Tennessee have to do with it? My mind doesn't work like that! Although I've been through Tennessee & what I saw of it was beautiful. I'm from Arkansas, believe me we have been stereotyped too!

I would have to know "you" before I answer the question. Just because you are from TN is no reason to judge. I may be from a area that is not desirable in ones eyes, and I would not want people to judge me because I said i was from there :) It is not the place, it is the person.

Well there is the stereotype of the rural southerner. But mostly when I think of Tennessee, I think of Nashville! It is like the Southern Hollywood to me.

Honestly I imagine teneseans as people who live in log cabins smoking corncob pipes in cut off jean overalls. The accent in generally so thick, that it is easy to imagine someone like that. (nothing personal)
