well,it says that on the lable it says it contains 1 oz of anti bacterial soap with aloe.

Next, I am somewhat in awe of the fact that you are 84, and still staying involved, please allow us the benefit of your wisdom.
Just for fun, since you asked this question under the category of psychology, my answer would be it is a sub-conscience attempt to justify gorging oneself on chocolate, "it keeps my hand clean", being the rationalization.
