i just feel sad. like i can't connect with anyone at college. i'm a sophomore at a small catholic school. i don't know if transferring is the answer. i guess i'll try. i just really have not met the people i thought i would in college. those "life long friends" everyone talks about. :(

I feel downright sad all the time. Deep, deep, deep, deep down. I know how you feel. You're not the only one suffering.

I understand the position you are in and it can be very troublesome at times. I am a sophomore in college as well. College for me is interesting and I enjoy my classes, but when it comes to friends and connecting with people, I'm lost. I have hobbies that keep me busy when I'm not working or at school. I really enjoy photography and often share my photos online with people I have never met, but since we all enjoy photography it makes me feel good that I can touch people in some way. I think the "college impression" is that you will meet alot of people, make friends, and party ( if you are into that). When it boils down I think you still have plenty of time to meet a good friend. Try going to some school functions, or get involved with school clubs. A good friend will come to you in time.

Your not out of school yet, one might come along, that will make an imprint on your life. If not maybe you are there to learn, and concentrate on doing something with your life. You might also meet someone there already, but the fact that you are suppose to hit it off hasn't hit you yet. Just relax, someone will be there. Have you made your self the kind of friend, that someone wants to remember, or are you waiting for them to be the one first?
