Well, at least when they're young, they tend to be exposed the most to whatever team Mom and Dad like, so they usually become fans as well. My son loves the Sox - something he technically decided on his own, but obviously was led to it by watching games with us since birth. I don't know whether I should have been extremely proud or quite ashamed when he pointed to the TV and said, "Papi!" at 10 months old, and could identify/name everyone on the active roster well before the age of 2. To be honest, I hope he continues to be a Sox fan when he's older; baseball is a great bonding experience for parents and kids. But if he decides he likes another team better, that's fine. Kids tend to have minds of their own like that.

I'd let them root for whatever team they want. It would be nice if they were die hard Yankee fans as I am, though. The only rule would be to stick with their team through the ups and the downs of the season and respect other teams. And if they had a justified reason to, I wouldn't be mad if they switched to a different team or were Red Sox fans. I do hope, however, that they are baseball fans, and I am even more hopeful that they are Yankee fans because baseball has been a big part of my life and so have the Yankees. I won't be having kids in a long time though.

Great question!

My dad was a Tigers fan, but I grew up a Braves fan largely cause of where I lived and TBS - I never got to see the Tigers play on TV. Now I have season tickets to the AAA team in Memphis and I'm more of a Cardinals fan. I suspect if my children are raised in Memphis they will undoubtably be Cardinals fans since they will be raised watching their minor leaguers. As long as they don't like the Yankees or Red Sox they can stay in my house as long as they want.

As long as they are not Cubs fans, or Yankees fans(sorry!) I don't really care. I would prefer for them to like the White Sox, and they probably will because I will be watching the Sox, so they will grow up watching the Sox, just like I did. As long as they don't join any bandwagons!

I can only give birth to Yankee fans. Biologically and Scientifically proven. I don't have kids yet but I know this for a fact.

If I was to make a decision to have a family, I would introduce them to the Yankees. However, I won't be angry if they decide to go for another team.

There are only three rules I have imposed since the birth of my oldest:

1. Daddy's glasses are absolutely off-limits. Play with and break anything else if you must, but not those.

2. No smoking. (You can never start this one too early.)

3. You don't have to like baseball, but if you do, you cannot be a Yankees fan. (It's a cultural thing.)

So far they're all holding up well.

Of course we will raise them to like our team. If you are as die hard as we are, there really isn't any other alternative.

We Already have them and they are the biggest Sox fans in their schools. In our house the word Yankee is a sware word. They are simply refered to as "The Bad Team" or " The Y word".
