Can anyone give me a straight, scientific definition of "DNA Subunit?"

A DNA subunit is the basic building block that makes up DNA: nucleotides.

There are four types of nucleotides, or DNA subunits. Each nucleotide has:
a. a sugar named deoxyribose
b. a phosphate group
c. one of four possible nitrogen bases: adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine

lol, I'm in 8th grade, too. The only way I can really describe it is that it's what makes up you as a person, it's in your cells, your genes, stuff like that. For instance, if both your mom and your dad have red hair, then it's possible that your genes could give you red hair, and red hair would be in your DNA. I might be wrong but that's the best I got. :) Hope I helped.
