Social deception is the decimation of information that has no basis in fact. For example, Hitler convinced everyone that the Jews were in control of the financial system of Germany which was why they were suffering so much during the depression. The facts were that the Jews controlled only a small percentage of the finances of that country or anywhere else in the world. Prejudices and fears people have of others are also social deceptions meant to be used as a rallying cry for those who seek power and control the actions of large groups of people for their own purposes. People have a tendency to believe what they hear without really looking deeper into it. Presidents have been elected because they got the American public to believe lies about others and to get them thinking about issues, such as divorce, that have nothing to do with making political decisions. So we sometimes elect moral morons, and we are not actually so sure how moral they are, but I won't let my own prejudices mar this site.
