I also wouldn't be able to date a

No! I would never date a smoker even a "light smoker" as you put it. People who smoke are setting themselves up for lung cancer. We know enough now to understand that smoking isn't safe and can have lots of risks. The smell is disgusting and I would never want to kiss someone that smokes and as you said potential health effects. I am completely anti-smoking.

Depends. I'd never date a heavy smoker. But if a woman totally amazes me in the looks and personality department, and just happens to be a light smoker, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to me, just as long as they do it away from me (after sex is okay, though, lol) and quit somewhere down the line....and early.

I am dating someone like this right now ... and he KNOWS that he should NOT smoke around me or in the home (because I am NOT a smoker at all) and HONORS and RESPECTS my decision on this subject. He does it as a nervous habit ... and it happened when we first started dating!

No I wouldn't. I can't stand the stink cigarettes leave on people. If a smoker wants to go out with me, he has to quit smoking first.

I did when I was younger and naive enough to think they would respect my wishes for them not to smoke around me. Now, I know better. I would never go out with a smoker. Smoking stinks!

I was a non-smoker and dated a heavy smoker. Everyone had bad habits. No-one's perfect.

NO!!!! A smoker is a smoker is a smoker!!!! I am a Cancer survivor and my Grandfather died of lung cancer from smoking. Plus I have chronic asthma and bronchitis and the two just don't mix.

No way! I can't stand someone that smells even remotely of cigarette smoke. They could beg me to use them in any perverted way I wished and I still wouldn't do it. Well not more than once at least. But that's all!

I wouldn't date ANY smoker, not even light. Sidestream and secondhand smoke can give you cancer. if he really cared about me he would quit before asking me out.
