When my now 2 year old was 9 month I was still nursing about 3x a day. It was at that time that I started gaving her more table foods. Her favorite was spaghetti. I put just a little tomato sauce on it and she would use her fingers. It was very messy, but she fed it to herself. I would also melt cheese in a tortilla, or on a piece of bread and cut it up and she loved that too. I work with infants and toddlers and have infnat guidelines for feeding. It's at 9 months when you can start introducing additional foods such as , scrambled egg yolg, yogurt, cheese, meat (finely chopped or shredded)

I agree with LC. My 10 month old loves most any pieces of soft fruits and veggies, bread, toast with jelly or plain, tortilla, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, oatmeal, cheerios, kix, Gerber baby cheetos, pizza, rice, sweet potatoes, turkey, chicken, pepperonis, pastas and anything we are eating. I looked at those Gerber meals to get ideas of what to give him too. If it is not as good for him I just give him a small taste (like pizza) not make a whole meal of it. I still breastfeed him once in the morning and once at night and he gets two 8 oz bottles during the day.

My daughter is 10 months old, i breastfeed her but during the day she also drinks baby juice. She normally has about 3 feeds a day depending on how she is feeling foods like fruit custard, vegetable soup pureed and she loves yoghurt ( for babies., but she also loves eating bananas, grapes, apples, plain rice crackers and she loves spaghetti!! She eats so much i could spend all day saying them all, beans, carrots mashed potato. All of the food she like to feed herself ( except mashed potato, spaghetti )

There are many finger foods baby can feed :Make sure they are soft and small pieces. So they won't choke.

* Small pieces of soft, mild cheese. However, big pieces can choke your baby.
* Soft toast, pieces of tortilla, rice, and bagel halves.
carrot, peas, green or waxed beans, Zucchini, and sweet potato. Avoid round carrot slices - raw or cooked.
* Peeled soft fruit wedges or slices like banana, apple, peach, pear, plum, avocado, melon.
* Soft, tender, small pieces of cooked meat, chicken or cooked egg yolk.

*Pieces of ripe banana and well-cooked pasta can be gummed.
