Okay, here I am sitting in my English class when my English teacher says ‘Okay guys, your exams are now over so I will set you some homework. You have to write me a story.
Now this is going to be hard work. Why oh why couldn’t it be something about my times tables or 30 maths questions or a few laps around the oval or making a pot in ceramics but NO! We’ve got the toughest one of the lot, writing a story.
So here I am wondering about what to write about… Oh! What about a horror story. ‘One day on a dark and stormy night.’ Na! Everyone is going to write about that one! How about a spy story ‘he saw the bullet slow down, everyone says time slows down when your about to die but he knew that already.’ But I don’t know enough about that sort of thing.

Last night we went to the Thai restraint down in Turramurra and I was talking to my parents about what I could write about but they only came up with really lame ideas like ‘Talk about your pets’ well I have a dog, his name his Fink and he is a European muffle dog cross new Zealand dash hound. We think he is a muffash. How about I try a story about my fish… what fun they were. After 3 days they used to spend all their time on the surface. What about me thinking about getting pet chickens. Well there were two reasons why my parents wouldn’t let me get some. The first reason was that when you get pet chickens you get some free rats, and the second reason was that we already have enough problems with our neighbours.

My parents then suggested that I talked about my holidays. Well I did spend 4 weeks in the caravan park in Narrabeen lakes. Well all we did was play cards and get sand in our sleeping bags. What is exotic about that? I have some friends in my class that go to Japan for skiing or Africa or Vietnam or America. Common, I haven’t even been outside New South Wales.
My mum then Exclaimed ‘I know what you can write about!’ ‘What’ I asked her and she replyed ‘my wonderful cooking what!’ she gasped. Okay, she is expecting me to write 800 words on what EasyMac-macaroni cheese tastes like. Well I can tell you; Maceroni cheese tastes like cardboard covered with cheese. Happy?
So far, my parents want me to write about; Fink my dog, My floating fish, My Next door neighbour chickens, my holidays in Narrabeen and Macaroni cheese. If anyone can get 800 words out of that, I will call them... err… I will call them…umm… Oh! That pearshake dude that we talked about in English,
