I dont think there is a political term, maybe "The Base" but Bush's base doesn't always agree with Bush, Bush tries to please his base as all politicians.

The unconditional follower?

I thought of sycophant : syc·o·phant (sk-fnt, sk-)

NOUN:
A servile self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people.

Also the term "true believer" comes to mind :

NOUN:
One who is deeply, sometimes fanatically devoted to a cause, organization, or person.

To be either of these successfully requires an ample supply of credulity....

noun: readiness or willingness to believe, especially on slight or uncertain evidence
