my boyfriend has a friend who is a girl and she is one of his best friends he doesn't hang out with her that much. And he swears that he likes/loves me and sometimes i tease him about her and he gets mad and says that they are only friends and that he likes me and doesn't like her like that. So my real question is should i be worried that he has a friend who is a girl or should i trust him?

It probably hinges on how much you trust him and how they behave when you see them together. Do you spend time with them together? Is he open about talking about what they and talk about with each other. Does she talk to you too? Teasing him about her is not a nice thing to do and it does reveal your insecurities and doubts about their friendship.
You cannot expect us to know whether you should trust your boyfriend. I would say that if you cannot trust your boyfriend, you have the wrong boyfriend. What's the relationship for if you cannot trust him?

You have to put yourself in his shoes. What if you had a friend who was male and he was your best friend and he always picked on you about it? I have been in this situation and picked on my now husband because he was close to a female. But my situation was a little different, it was his ex. But in the end, he started picking on me about my best friend who happens to be male and it's not fun.
No one can answer the question of being worried. You have to go with your own feelings about it. Weigh how you feel and most importantly talk to him about it. If you really care for him and vise versa then you have nothing to worry about.

i don't honestly know because I'm a jealous person but my friend isn't...She has a husband and when they were going out her husband had a friend who was a girl and it never bothered her.... me on the other hand...i would never let my BF's see thier female friends...... i guess it all depends on you... your the only one that could really answer that question and knows your boyfriend and how he is with you.
