I'm writing an essay about the sideof us that we was humans usually conceal in order to find acceptance. I need some examples to back this statement up.

I only have 1 example so far, which is that guys don't usually cry in public or cry at all, so that they will be accepted in society.

we as human suppress just about every emotion that we have or at least conform to what is called the "norm"but if we are being honest we all conduct our self in such a way that we
often wish we could show, say,or do something differently
like you say we as men where taught that (big boys don't cry)
from a very young age! society has installed these preconceived notions/formats and we seem to carry them on from generation to generation in short you could write or cast examples for every single emotion know to us.

well there are a lot of examples when your developing as a child like you stop sucking on your finger or carrying a blanket, but as an adult we conceal greed in a smart business deal so the buyer doesn't get scared. Good Luck!

We often suppress expression of our feelings of anger and suppress a desire to engage in acts of aggression, not only to find acceptance, but also to stay out of prison.

We suppress feelings of attraction to others when we think that showing them might be seen as inappropriate, or bring us ridicule.

Anger gets suppressed. It is not smart to yell at the boss even if he/she is a dork.
