I think experience is the key! Join your local theatre and try to get into some plays and productions. Take drama classes as well if you are able. This is the best way of starting out and the more experience you have the better! :)

Take drama classes in high school, they'll definitely help out your acting abilities. Also look into a local theater for auditions! If that's not enough, I'm sure you could find an acting coach around somewhere in a nearby city. If you want to get started, you have to get involved! Go out there and look for opportunities, that's the key.

I'm 14 as well and i love theater. Although i prefer musical theater myself a lot of my friends act, the best thing to do is to look to see if their are any small local theaters and work your way up. Your not going to start off getting main roles but whatever you get take it and run with it because you earn a reputation based on attitude, attendance, and how you react to fellow cast mates. Eventually if you wanted to you could work on tv shows but at our age BIG commitments aren't exactly convenient. Hope this helps ... Best of Wishes

I need to make this short, e-mail me for more though tomorow.Take as many acting classes as you can. Hire an agent. Get into as many commercials, shows, and films. I reccomend you acting for Disney Channel and here is how. Your agent will be notified when there are casting calls for any upcoming DCOMs or series. They will send in a shoulder up picture of you, your resume, and an acting reel to Disney Channel. (An acting reel is a short video of some of your best acting. If this isn't made proffesionally then don't send it in at all because they won't take very seriously.

My daughter (16) is in high school and they have an acting club. The school also puts on a musical each year. Check with your guidance counselor to see what your school might offer.

Well, they are trying to be helpful. What you really need is to have your parents help you. That is the big thing for someone your age. Without their help, all you can do is school plays.
