Yes, it does. More freedom, less peer pressure. It gets better.

I am one of those guys who did not "enjoy" high school either. I had a few friends, but it all seemed very artificial to me. Most of my peers were petty, narrow-minded, self-centered and in a word, spoiled. When I got to college it was like "where have you people been all my life?" It was such a refreshing change. I also have done better in the career world, so high school was not "the best years of my life." I would say--this too shall pass--but you might be able to do some things in the short run to take the sting out of HS. Try to find a group or club in something which interests you, preferably with other HS students, and join it. It doesn't have to be tied to the school, but if it is, so much the better. Get involved, but of course, don't let your studies suffer. If the work is truly overwhelming you ask for help. Talk to the teacher or a school counselor about tutoring if you need it. It shows a sign of maturity if you see your limits and try to get help, It sounds like you generally do well, that is a plus in the long run--it will serve you well, even if it is not noticeable right now. Keep your chin up, it will get better.

I'll tell you what, If it doesn't then you are living in the past. Like is what you make out it. Every day should be better than the last. I'm 27 and I would go back a single year. If you have a bad time in High School, don't worry about it. You can have a fresh start in college. And, if for some reason, college isn't better, then when you graduate, you get another fresh start.

Absolutely. High school is just such a small part of life, if you think about it. You have SO much more to look forward to, and so many more years ahead of you. It's TEN times better after high school, I guarantee.
EDIT-- 'In a Handbasket' said it best-- that answer gets my vote!

In ways yes, In ways no.
You get alot more responsibilty and stress than you had in high school, but all the dumb drama and games stop. (Unless your a drama queen) People who used to be mean to you are usually nice after high school cause most things no longer matter in the real world.

Not really. Because you have to get a job and move out and pay for an deal with all the stuff you parents dealt with for you. Like when you got in trouble and your parents dealt with the teachers, only now you have to deal with bosses on your own, and if you get smart with them you get fired and can't buy groceries or pay rent.
So no, not at all.

life is life and is best when we treat it with the best and most positive attitude. its not about the place, time or object that we find happiness in but the happiness our heart is willing to experience. So lets experience smiles and bliss in our daily lives because they are already beautiful enough and only come once.

It will if you are a person with any worth. When things start to suck remember that the "popular" kids are peaking right now and most of them will spend the rest of their lives looking back at what big deals they were in high school.

Oh God yes.
It did for me, anyway. I hated high school with the exception of some good memories my senior year that had nothing to do with school itself.
