It has 2 pins set close together which have holes in them. Any idea which country they are from?

And since they look like kettle cords, can I use ordinary UK leads? Or do I have to use a converter plug adapter because of the voltage?

Help please.. Thanx

That is a standard Continental Europe plug. You can replace the whole AC power cord set or just use an adapter.

It could be an american plug, does it have flat or round pins? if they are flat then they are american and the voltage your computer works on will be 115V 60Hz. If they are round then it will be OK to use a british kettle lead as your computer will be 230V 50Hz. If it is an american model then you will need a 230/115 v step down transformer & the size of it will depend on the wattage of your computer but one that can handle a 5amps load should be big enough.

If it fits the PC it's correct. Check what voltage the PC is set to-it will be right beside the socket. If there is nothing, just plug in. Think about it, how will your standard cable fit?

So you are from England? It would also help to tell us where you bought it.
