Colostrum can actually vary in appearance. Typically it is a yellowish color and is creamy in texture. Sometimes it is clear and watery. It is thicker than breast milk which will not "come in" until 3-5 days after you give birth. Whether you leak colostrum during pregnancy or not it is perfectly normal either way. You can wear nursing pads if the leaking is persistent. If it is just a few drops now and then you probably won't need to wear the pads regularly. It is helpful to wear them if you are wearing a top that would show wetness clearly such as light colored solid color shirts. It's better to have them on and not need them then to start leaking and wish you had them on. I had 4 babies and never leaked while pregnant. Not all women do. I nursed all 4 and had varying degrees of leaking with each one. With my youngest, I wore nursing pads for a few days, but ended up not leaking at all with her.

colostrum is yellowish and kinda thick. it's normal for it to be there around your 7th month although with my second child it came in a lot earlier than that. as long as you're not dripping (which colostrum shouldn't do anyway) you don't need to use the pads yet. only when you're actively nursing will you be dripping to the point of needing the pads. :) congrats on your little one.
