Take him for a nice meal and to see a show then stop over in a hotel and the rest we'll leave to you or you could buy him something like a sat nav system if he drives, if he's a little adventurous there balloon flights, racing cars days or even a glider try fly the choices are endless.

Is he a football fan? Get him some of that team's clothing.
Is he a hunter? Give him some cool binoculars or something he could use.
Does he like cars? A subscription to a magazine about cars.

Depends on how much you have to spend and what he is interested in. Moderately expensive could be anything from a round of golf and lunch at a nice club or a hunting lease . A weekend camping trip with you if he likes fishing. A professionally done portrait of the entire family , a new suit or books about his favorite period in history. Depending on how close you live to some of the neat historical places you could go to one of the reinactment locations like Williamsburg or Trenton where Washington crossed the Delaware River.

Hmm. The big kids I know like paint ball guns, roller coasters at amusement parks, going to concerts to see their favorite band(s), going to sporting events, skiing, white water rafting, big screen televisions, casinos, snowmobile trips. Depending on your budget and where you live some likes four wheelers (ATVs) and such. Around my area they sell NASCAR experiences where you can ride in a car or even drive one on the race track at high speeds. Do you know any of his interests, hopes, dreams, goals, etc. that you can creatively turn into a gift or post to help get more personalized answers?
