Unfortunately you will have to uninstall it before you install the new one especially if it's a different brand of anti spyware. It is NOT a good idea to run two different types of anti virus or anti spyware on your computer at the same time as they can clash and cause more problems than you will have by just uninstalling and installing the new one. Whenever you install security hardware it will do a scan as soon as it's installed so don't be too alarmed about the fact that you have a balloon coming up down the botton saying your computer might be at risk, this is the norm and I have had to uninstall my security to put a new one on many times, the balloon constantly popping up is a pain in the backside but it's all good once you install the new software be it via the internet or disk. To unstall, click, start, control panel, add and remove programs and select the program you wish to uninstall, if you have your anti virus and anti spyware all in the same program but only wish to uninstall one not all, see if there is a "change" option when you highlight it, usually there is and you can select the options you wish to change ie select uninstall spyware! Good luck with the new security

you should not have too. You should be able to keep running.
I have two anti-spyware progams running. Extra protection
You can disable by either right clicking on it in the system tray or just uninstall it.

If you really do need to just right click on its icon in the notification area near the clock and disable or quit.

There's no need to UNINSTALL your AntiSpyware, just make sure that it's not running at the same time as your other one!
I have 3 AntiSpyware programs installed on my PC, one will always pick up what the others miss.

Just run it. I have more than one anti-virus & and more than one anti-spy. No problems. Unless your PC is old & slow.
This business of not running more than one comes from old systems and Norton and McAfee (which you DO NOT want to use) which DO conflict. New programs are fine. If a program does conflict-don't load it.
