There's a warm special place inside mommy called a womb, where babies grown until they are ready to be born. Then mommy goes to the hospital and the doctor helps to bring the baby from the womb to the outside. That's the best I could simplify it for them.

the truth is definitely the best. you do not have to be graphic or even extremely specific. it is important that they know they can ask you a question or come to you and you will be honest with them.
