I would say yes, but you may want it to be a girl because males can be aggressive with each other. If your rabbit continues to show depression, starts a loss of hair, and gets irritated spots of skin you may want to take him to a doctor, sometimes these are just to allergies but they can be a form of lonliness and boredom.

If you want to get him a friend, get him neutered. Then the best match would be a spayed female. A intact male will not get along with any other bunny. All he will want to do it mate. If you got another male, they would fight and possibly kill each other. Neutering will also help with male behaviours like spraying and humping.
Try you local SPCA and see if you can bring him for a bunny date to see who he likes.
Age shouldn't matter, neither should breed. But try to say around his size.
Putting a male a female together who are not fixed will result in hundreds of babies.

my friend had a rabbit and it was very lonely. The only thing was that she could not hadle having another pet. Make sure you can handle a second rabbit.

Here is some websites about rabbits haing friends:

Also, your rabbit might just be bored. Here are some ideas to get him more entertained

-Teach him some tricks

-Take him out on a leash

-Buy him some toys

Here are some ideas on some homemade toys:

-Old books or phone books
-Plush bunny to groom
-Old blanket or towel, to bunch up and rearrange
-Paper bag or box of hay (e.g., a cereal box or any small box)
-Plastic keys (the kind for babies)
-Piece of wood for chewing
-Container (empty plastic butter bowl, etc.) with something inside to make it rattle
-Untreated wicker baskets
-Rolled up newspaper, paper grocery bags
-Cardboard toilet paper, paper towel rolls or paper cups (not the wax kind)
-Carpeted cat condo
-Cardboard tunnels
-Untreated grass mats
-Set up an obstacle course. Use cardboard boxes, tunnels, and baskets. Just make sure it is not too high, for the rabbit's safety

If you are considering a friend for your bunny there are two things most important to know. Another male will fight with your male till the death. Afemale will become pregnant. Even if you had the female castrated your male would constantly bother. You could have him castrated. A year old is ideal. Then 12 weeks later you could introduce a female.

Now, Basically what you should do is buy another pet rabbit a female... it probably needs fun with a girl because its been away from his Mom for awhile and he is probably really sad. another solution is too wait another month and see if he gets more playful than what he currently is. Hope this helps =-)

rabbits actually like to be by themselves if you want to get another rabbit its your choice to sex and age. Females tend to be aggressive over cages and claiming their territory. So most likely you will have to cage them seperatly, and malees will fight. Spend time with your rabbit and give affection. hope that helped

well why not get him a mate his same age... then you can have the joy of little baby bunnies!!! tht way he will have a friend and once they both die you'll have a substitute for them (even tho the babies will never be able to replace the first ones)
