Yes, especially when I've given a lot of thought or if the answer is saying that we should all respect people's individuality or something that is a proved fact. Makes me wonder if it's personal or if they just thumbs everyone down...I think you should have to fill out a thing saying why you thumbs down...maybe it wouldn't be so abused.

It's so rare that I even give a thumbs down that I don't think about it much. But, I do sometimes wonder just like you when I've really put a lot of thought into answering a question and someone because they don't agree with what my opinion gives me a thumbs down.
I thought that this website was for us to give our opinions and for others to give theirs. I think we should all respect one another's opinions and not give thumbs down unless it is an answer that is gross or should be reported (I don't report either).

Yeah it does annoy me. But still...all of us have probably given a thumbs down for an answer we didn't like before as well.
