I have a new apple iPod shuffle. I have downloaded quicktime player and itunes. But What do i do next?

The manuel said follow the instuctions as appear on screen. But nothing does apper on screen. I tried to syncronise my iPod but the button "synch iPod" in the iTunes panel can not be clicked upon. I am at my wits end now. I was told my computer will sync my iPod automatically once plugged in. I tried creating an acount in iTunes but i dont have any of the payment cards as I am student with no visa/ master card. Please give me a step instruction as to how to make my iPod work. I think there is no charge in the battery. I have plugged it in my USB drive. Is it charging automatically? I have charged it for an hour now. Yet i see no green light when i switch my ipod on. Please do help.

First, as long as your computer is on then your iPod will charge!

Now, you can make an iTunes account even though you have no credit card. Just when the screen pops up, there's an option that says "No Credit Card." Click that. (That's how I had to make my account because I'm 16 and there's no way my mom was giving me her credit card lol).

The computer will sync automatically as long as you have iTunes downloaded.

If your iPod is new, it'll take about 4 hours to charge. After that it takes about an hour or so.
