Feel free to imagine any color you like. There is neither evidence for auras, nor reason to believe we have some sort of cloud emanating from us. I know you can capture an image of what appears to be an aura using contact photography, but there is no reason to think this has anything but a perfectly natural source.

Why are auras only visible to some people? If they are different colors then they are different frequencies of visible light. This has everything to do with the retina and nothing to do with the spiritual presence of a cloud of ether around a person. In addition, if someone has an aura, who's to say different colors mean different things? Also, if I have an aura then it should be visible as the same color to all people who claim to be able to see auras, right? Anyone care to guess the outcome of that experiment?

Anything you see along these lines is either a self-induced hallucination, or an incorrect memory, probably from a long time ago. This is because there is no aura. There is no mystical energy. It doesn't exist. It's superstitious nonsense.

Sometimes you will get an after-image if you stare at something for a long time and then move your eyes slightly. And there are also aural displays which are due to blood pressure affecting the retina or optic nerve. You can get these by pressing your finger onto your closed eye for several seconds. But they are in *you*, not outside of your body.

Peter D, you are referring to Kirlian photography and the "auras" are due to the high voltage field the print paper is subjected to. The humidity is a critical factor in what kind of aura you get. So that lovable, kook biologist, Thelma Moss, was quite wrong in thinking there was something special going on. Just the effects of static electricity.

We were always told in Catholic school that white halos meant somebody was holy...or a saint. The people you saw...do you know if they are good people or what? Do you see it around everybody's head? I never heard of this before....and I sure never saw a halo around anyone's head.
EDIT Well..what did they give me a thumbs down for? I can't see anything bad in what I said! Shame on you!
What I was going to say is that I went to a psychic fair a few years ago and they took a picture of our auras...then told us what the colors meant. Mine kinda fit what I already knew.
I've heard of auras before..just not white ones.(except for holy people)

The best way to see aura's is to set a person about 12 - 18 inches away from a white beige wall in soft light. Do not look at the person but focus on the the wall behind them. Gradually you will see a light outline around the person (their aura).

If you try to focus on the aura; the aura will disappear,

After practise; you will begin seeing the colors.

relax, ask yourself why you want to see these things. Sometimes we get caught up in fascinations. My advice is to focus on yourself, and let these experiences pass, let go. The auras will continue to be there, but they aren't so important. I think we notice these things when we look at people equally, with love, it starts with love.
Colors are more subtle, but sometimes will just be there.
Many books have been written on these experiences
Hands Of Light Barbara (Enrich, I forget last name)
Kundalini and the Chakras, Genevieve Lewis Paulson
I suggest finding a practice like meditation, which will focus your mind on your experience, helping you to practice equanimity. Practice frees up you energy, and so these extra sensory perceptions harmonize more readily.
Main thing is not to get heavy with this stuff, let it be light and love.
Colors sometimes show an imbalance, or over active part of the body.
The Celestine Vision is a movie with some auras drawn in, it has an interesting discussion on life energy.
Good luck, the world is very fascinating, and people want peace and happiness, share your love with yourself and others.

far as I know, keep practicing. The way I read somewhere is to have the person sit with their backs to a white wall (because I've heard the color of the wall will influence what color you see around them), and stare at their head or shoulder area, but just beside that, so you're not actually staring AT their head, but you more see it peripherally (does that make sense?). Then let your sight go hazy, and stare at that for 30 seconds. When you blink, you'll see the color, but you'll only have like 1 second for it to register.

I've never been able to do it. lol I can see the halo around the head, and the part of the aura that's 1 inch from the body, occassionally I can see the one that extends a foot from the body, but unfortunately no color. If you figure it out, let me know? lol My son can see aura by squinting his eyes as he studies the person he's looking at, but other than that, he has no idea how he does it. Bummer. lol

Good luck!

hello Orion

Close your eyes! Try not to see with your physical eyes, but with your brow chakra (3rd eye).

You may or your may not see colours, you may see emotions, images, messages. Be open to what your connection is like for you. Expect it to also change as you develop further.

In Peace
Pam
