Arrogance, avarice and hubris have set in, making the United States feel it is superior to all other nations on the planet. We Americans represent only 5% of the world's population, yet we squander 55% of the global resources. We have this attitude that WE are the only nation who can be trusted with nuclear weapons (yet we are the only people who has ever denoated a nuclear weapon against civilians). We believe WE should be allowed to drive around in gas-guzzling SUVs and Hummers just because we 'can afford" $3.15-per-gallon gasoline. We think WE are too superior to sign the international Kyoto agreement designed to save the Earth from environmental disaster. We think WE deserve more power and more influence than any other nation on Earth. We assume WE should be able to bully other nations just because WE have the military might to force our will. WE are seen as perhaps the most greedy, most insolent, and most wasteful people on the planet - and one day soon WE will pay for our trangressions, selfishness and fraud. -RKO- 11/04/07
