98 - Ahman Green, Green Bay vs. Denver, Dec. 28, 2003
97 - Andy Uram, Green Bay vs. Chi. Cardinals, Oct. 8, 1939
97 - Bob Gage, Pittsburgh vs. Chi. Bears, Dec. 4, 1949
Although Barry Sanders probably had a 75 yard run where he actually covered 150 yards from criss-crossing the field.

99 yards done by a couple different people. It cant be 100 because you cant start at the goal line and its not 109 because that was not a run. a run is a handoff not a missed field goal kick returned for 109 yards. The only feasible answer is 99 yards.

Are you talking about a kick or punt return or a run from a play?
Somebody had a 99 yard run from a play which is the longest possible from a play

all of the answers are RETURNS..the longest run is by Tony Dorsett 99 yds against the Vikings at the Metrodome (oddly enough given the events of today), in the early 80's ('83 i think). He is the ONLY one to run 99 yds from scrimmage.

It just happened today. It was a short field-goal kick and the guy cought it in the endzone and returned it 109 yrds. which is the longest run in NFL history
