okay, I have read many sites on trying to concieve, and I just need a little assurance, and some advice from those of you who may have done this, and maybe you can help me with something that's not written in these sites.
First period was 10-01 to 10-4 then again 10-24 to 10-29. I tried one of those conception calendars and it had today as being a fertile day, but my cervecal mucas is not clear and stringy, it's white and boogary, but not clear and stretchy. From what I've read, that your chances of getting pregnant is higher with the clear and stretchy mucas. please help, is there any chance of concieving tonight? My husband works really weird hours, is on the road alot. We both want a family, but sometimes he's away at "the conception time." So I was wondering if there was anyone who knows more then what these sites have provided for me. Thank you so much.

Sperm can live up to five days in fertile cervical mucus (however most can live 3). Fertile cervical mucus is wet or a lubricative vaginal sensation. Egg white (stretchy, clear) is the most fertile. To maximize your chances of getting pregnant, have sex 2-3 days prior to ovualtion and the day of ovulation. You do not need to have sex all of these days to get pregnant. Having sex all those days just maximizes your chances. You can get pregnant having sex any time during your fertile phase.

Read the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. Check out the website: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ Buy a basal thermometer at the drug store. The most accurate way to know when you are ovulating is to chart your waking temperatures and noticing your cervical mucus.

I used to wait until it my cm was clear too but my MIL suggested I try before my peak day. I did, which was right after my period, and I'm now 16 weeks pregnant. The sperm can live for a long time, so I would say baby dance with your hubby whenever it works for you. Good luck!

If you are regular, then you only have a 23 day cycle (count from day 1 of your period to day 1 of your next period), which is very very short. I'd go talk to your doctor about that. As far as the CM goes, I never saw the fertile CM, and I tracked it for months. I got pregnant with no problems both times I tried.
