Hadn't heard, but thanks for getting word out. Hank Thompson holds a lot of memories for me, one of dad's favorites. Started every Saturday morning with "Oklahoma Hills" & "Six Pack to Go", drove my mom crazy. Daddy's pickup only had one radio station, KLPR in Okla., 'the King of Country Radio'. At home though the tunes were spinnin', Thompson, Williams, Snow, Locklin, Acuff & always the Carters. No wonder so many of todays kids are messed up, they don't get exposed to the right music!

Thanks for posting the address. Right on the heels of losing Porter Wagoner, this is devastating.
My thoughts on Hank Thompson? When someone says "Hank," I usually think of him before Williams. A lot of people don't know that he is responsible for taking that mournful lost-love ballad of the Carter Family's, "Wildwood Flower," and making it the country guitar national anthem, but it was his recording of that (with his Brazos Valley Boys and Merle Travis) in the mid-50s that revived the song.
From novelty songs like "Wake Up, Irene" and "Woah, Sailor" to heartfelt ballads like "Yesterday's Girl" and "Honky Tonk Girl," he could do it all.

So sorry to hear that. I wasn't sure he was still around. I saw him YEARS ago in Peoria, Il. That was back when a lot of stars toured together. A very young Waylon Jennings was part of that group as well as Hank Snow and some girl singers that I can't remember.

Thanks F.F.T.C.,
Fortunately, I've seen Hank several times. I see everyone I can for the very reason you mention.
It should also give us (at least me) a wake up call to quit smoking. My mom died of lung cancer four years ago, and Porter last week.
P.S.-finishing up your cds right now. Hopefully mailing tomorrow or Tuesday. Good to see you didn't let the bastards get you to quit!
