I don't think our society as a whole is encouraging teen pregnancy. Maybe in different cultures within the US, it may be tolerated. I think as adults today we want to educate our children on these kinds of things and we want them to be able to make the right decision when the time comes.

I don't think anything encourages this...it all comes down to bad choices(or lack of).

They need to be raised with an awareness of consequences when they do something. If you do that, then this, or this or this can happen...and it will affect what that outcome will be.

I have read that some teens lack the love, acceptance and support from family/friends, so they feel they can get that from a baby, who won't judge so harshly. A baby is something in their lives that they feel they can control the outcome of, and be able to make decisions themselves.

I was pregnant at 18 and feel that had I had more support and guidance on what I should do with my life, and how to go about it, things would have been differently for me. I would not have chosen to move out on my own when I did and moved right in with my bf.

I don't think Society IS "encouraging" teenage pregnancy. Last I heard, the statistics were down for teenage preg. But there are a lot of misled teenage girls who feel that if they have a baby they are automatically and "Adult". SAD!! Life is too short - and childhood/teenage yrs. are the shortest part of Life. I say, don't rush it !! Not fair to teens and so unfair to the the innocent baby who never "asked" to be in that situation.

anything you hear on radio ,see on tv , teen magazines and other magazine glorifying sex outside of marriage is doing that.Plus getting a pack of condoms from school and a green light doesnt help either.
The main thing is parents who let their "children" date.
Teens arent old enough or mature enough for that responsibility and this is why you have teen pregnancy.
Look at the amish and see what kind of problems they have and how they teach their kids.
Youll see they dont have the same problems we have or at least not nearly a high a percentage of it.

Out of the shows you listed I in basic terms watch Degrassi which will bias my opinion yet i do no longer think of television shows are encouraging infants to grow to be pregnant and that they often do no longer depict teenage being pregnant as elementary. Take Degrassi's maximum cutting-edge teenage being pregnant storyline. while Jenna had her infant she replaced into compelled to leave college so as to look after him. She in no way observed her friends and replaced into shown to be extremely depressing. even nevertheless she lived with the child's father ok.C she particularly observed him as he replaced into busy balancing college and paintings attempting to assist them. finally Jenna realised she ought to no longer cope after she left the child unattended and it fell from the substitute table and she or he desperate to grant it up for adoption. despite the fact that even this wasn't shown as elementary as ok.C particularly struggled with giving his infant away.

BECAUSE NOONE IS ENFORCING FAMILY VALUES AND TEACHING THEIR CHILDREN THEY DON'T NEED TO BE HAVING SEX. Coming from a place where I work with teenagers on a regular basis that come in and have babies they think it is one big ole party. They come from generations of welfare and feel that it perfectly fine to have everyone else pay for their children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that the media incorporates that sex is love. That you cant feel or have love without sex. So i think teens feel that they need to have sex to feel love or even fit in, and they don't think about the consequences of their actions. That's just my thought on that.

The skanky starlets and role models. The skanky clothes in the mall. The skanky girl-degrading music.
