Sometimes people star questions they don't answer because they want to find out what the answer is after more people answer. It's easier to be able to have it as a link on your star list than look it up on Y!A.

I do that if I find the question interesting but I really don't have an answer for it because maybe I've never been in the position before.e.g How did you feel when your mom/dad died? Both of my parents are alive so I can't answer that.

no longer if somebody has already given an answer I believe. Then I provide that a thumbs up. i do no longer famous man or woman any questions through fact of who the guy is who asked it. that must be particularly infantile and unfair.

i do it if i don't really know the answer but i think it's a cool question.like if someone puts a joke,i don't see the point in answering and just saying 'lol',so i give it a star.

I'm guilty of doing that. I usually do it if I'm too lazy to answer the question, but I want to come back later and answer it.

when i surf my contacts Qs i'm likely to star them even if i have no answer.
